🎯 Hit your goals for this school year!

Hey there Reader!

This morning, I'm packing my bag for a quick drive down to Atlanta to speak at the National Hybrid Schools Conference. I've never been to this one before, and I'm excited to hear about the different forms of education being offered to our students now. If Covid taught us anything, it's that there are a lot of different ways students can be successful. Some need a 6-hour school day. Some need to be outdoors. Others are driven to get their assignments done in a few hours so they can tackle a project.

I am so grateful that we are creating multiple ways for students to get an education and that they are becoming more widely available for students around the country. (If you are in the Atlanta area, come by and see me!)

Finish the Year Strong

Many of you are heading into the final stretch of this school year. As we turn the corner into May, this often becomes the month of end-of-year activities that keep us exhausted and busy. There may be some final instruction happening or even some test taking, but students are getting excited for summer activities.

Math instruction doesn't have to be a formal lesson. On crazy days, I like to rely on math literature and games. Even middle school students can get interested in a great picture book that challenges them to think in another way. I've created an entire blog post with some of my favorites. You can access them here.

Two of my favorites include freebies to get your students involved. I've included them below so you can download them down:

Test-Taking Strategies

I shared with you last time 5 of my favorite test taking strategies. I've included them in a quick YouTube video where I describe how to begin implementing them. You can check out that video by clicking on the image below.

Even if you aren't taking a standardized test this year, check out the first one about mind mapping. This is an awesome way to end the year by celebrating everything your students has learned this year!

Summer Plans

As we head into summer, I'm considering what resources to offer you. I would love to hear from you! Be sure to vote below so I can begin creating some custom resources you would want to use!

Thank you for partnering with me to support your students! Have a great Friday!

P.S. If you are looking for even more ways to review at the end of this year, don't forget to check out my project-based learning. There's so many topics from baseball to national parks, your students are sure to find something they don't want to put down!
